“Crucial ConversationScenario”

My  stress test and analysis is showing the more situation become crucial ,the less likely I can hand it. And there is a chance of severe crucial conversation. That part can affect my career ,personal health and relationship. As far as my present scenario is concerned , CC possess the  personality that always emphasize to play blame game.Such condition is a form of narcissism (Berne, 2016, p.n.d).Before implementing any action plan about this scenario first i learnt about this narcissism condition.I think, the main reason behind blaming others is  usually the defensive mechanism during insecurities. It is consider as the form of control.Actually it is possible that CC seeks something from victim in the form of psychological stability ,monetary or reassurance. It is very important to know ,it is very difficult to change such behaviour as it is self-perpetuating.

Dealing with situation

  • Help

According to the vocabulary of chapter 2 (The Power of dialogue) helped. It stated “At the core of every successful conversation lies the free flow of relevant information” (Patterson, 2002, p.n.d).Conveying the point to both CC and supervisor helpedrather just informing to supervisor. In this way, supervisorbecame evident of situation and there was no chance of blaming in future from CC side.I directly clarify the situation with CC that if there would be a need of her and she wouldnot available, in this specific situation what I am supposed to do? ,I considered her answer too as because the vocabulary of chapter 2 stated “Successful dialogue results when everyone feels safe enough to add their meaning to the shared pool”(Patterson, 2002, p.n.d).The behaviour of CC was anti-social for answering my question.I noticed by using vocabulary of chapter 4 “The behavioural signal” and responded accordingly.I did notact as the enforcerand  remained calm.I discussed about the anti-social behaviour with supervisorand left at the higher authorities to fight their battle. In this situation, CCcould not blame as supervisor is a witness of situation.

  • Hindered

As the whole department talked about the situation from her.I  did not let the CC got the point that employee spend a time discussing the problem regarding her.It could create big hindrance from other staff and made the condition worse.I preferred to act as proactive rather reactive,it could minimize the misunderstanding of future. The behaviour of defencelessnesswas in my favour to avoid personal conflict (Patterson, 2002, p.n.d).

Conclusion

In some situations, failed conversation results to minor problem. While in particular condition it can also appear as disaster.Overall, failed conversation never have a positive impact on any situation.
