History teaches that for a nation to flourish there has to be commonality within the society. The people have to share similar interests, values, and cultures. The three become the base. It has to merge with all the elements to become not only larger but united. In the early 16th century, some immigrants from England fled in search of a better life. They had various reasons to support their movement. For example, poverty, persecution, and religious intolerance.
The packed their belongings and left together with their families. It was the beginning of the colonial unification . They embarked on a perilous journey and reached what we know today as America. The first group settled on the Chesapeake Bay and Massachusetts Bay. The two became colonies later. Afterwards, many more people flee their countries in Europe to come to America.
Soon there had to be a colonial unification because there were colonies all over the world. They started in Europe and ended in Africa. In 1732, there were thirteen English territories. The British Empire broke them into three, the Southern, Middle, and New England Colonies. They all had their differences, which attracted diverse types of people (Craven, 1968).
The colonial unification had to consider the religious beliefs, cultural practices, language barriers, and traditions. They had to come up with methods of correlation, to avoid constant wars. However, they faced attacks from other Empires (Soifer, 1998).
