Deez Nuts is an Australian band. Its genre is hardcore punk. JJ Peters, Sean Kennedy, Alex Salinger, and Matt Rogers, formed it in Melbourne, Victoria in 2007. It has four studio albums and one EP. It came after the disbanding of the Australian group I Killed the Prom Queen. JJ was a drummer there. Their influence is hip-hop. In 2007, they started performing the instruments and vocals. Peter wrote the songs. It played a few shows in Melbourne, where they received a positive response.
Peters of Deez Nuts went to the studio again to complete the recording of the first public release. They named it Rep Your Hood. For its recording, Peter performed everything. Shortly after, the band began its Australian tour. It was in October 2007; they named it the Drunk and Disorderly Tour. They were with their friends The Amity Affliction, and also The Daylight Curse. They rested shortly (Thomas, 2015).
In January 2008, Deez Nuts began the Australian Boys of Summer Tour. They performed together with Set Your Goal, Silverstein, Capeside, and The Amity Affliction. It was successful, and it led to their growth, within the Australian Hardcore Community. JJ started writing the next project for the band. However, he put the work on hold because he had to concentrate on the farewell tour for I Killed the Prom Queen. The shows were selling out immediately. He later continued working on the debut album (Thomas, 2015).
